The next in our series of Valentine's Day treats is a scene from David Tennant's 2012 romantic comedy The Decoy Bride..

When the wedding of American film star Lara Tyler (ALICE EVE - Men in Black 3, Sex and the City 2) to tweedy English author James Arber (DAVID TENNANT -- Doctor Who, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire) is sabotaged by a paparazzo, they decide to relocate the event to the one place where the world's press won't find them: the sleepy Scottish Island of Hegg.

However, dilapidated buildings and greedy islanders are the least of the problems that the wedding party and their Hollywood entourage have to deal with, as Marco (FEDERICO CASTELLUCCIO -- The Sopranos) the ingenious paparazzo tracks them down in his mission to photograph the celebrity wedding of the year. VALENTINE'S DAY TREAT: David Tennant As Romeo

As we continue with our Valentine's themed treats for today we take a look back at David Tennant's portrayal of Romeo in the 2000 production of Romeo And Juliet with The Royal Shakespeare Company.
The play began previews in Stratford-upon-Avon in June 2000 and ran in residence from July until October. The play was then performed in Newcastle and then in January 2001 it transferred to the Barbican in London where it played until March.

A long-standing feud between the Montagues and the Capulets flares up in a brawl on the streets of Verona, halted only by the arrival of Prince Escalus. Romeo, only son of the Montagues, is hopelessly in love with the unattainable Rosaline. Attempting to shake him out of his melancholy, his friends Mercutio and Benvolio persuade him to go to a party at the Capulets' house. There he meets and falls instantly in love with Juliet, the Capulets' only daughter, and she with him. With the help of Juliet's Nurse, they are secretly married the next day by Friar Laurence. Juliet's cousin Tybalt quarrels with Romeo and in the fight which ensues Mercutio is killed. Romeo avenges his friend's death and kills Tybalt, for which he is banished from Verona on pain of death. After spending a single night with his bride, he escapes to Mantua. Juliet learns that her parents plan to marry her to Count Paris. Distraught, she turns to Friar Laurence, who devises a plan. He gives her a drug which will make her appear to be dead. The intention is that her parents will place her in the family tomb and when she awakes from her drugged sleep, Romeo will be waiting to escape with her to Mantua. When Romeo returns to Verona, he believes her really to be dead and kills himself. Waking to find Romeo dead beside her, Juliet kills herself. The two families, united in grief, vow to end their feud.

Starring David Tennant and Emilia Fox, Love Virtually by Austrian novelist Daniel Glattauer is a thoroughly modern epistolary novel with one difference - its protagonists Emmi Rothner and Leo Leike communicate exclusively by email.

They 'meet' when Emmi mistakenly sends an email to Leo's inbox. A romance ensues that allows them to live out a shared secret life far removed from their day-to-day existences. The story asks to what extent the relationship relies on fantasy and escapism and whether it will it survive a real life meeting.
The problem is Emmi is married - but does a virtual affair ‘count’ as adultery?
The tale questions whether it’s possible to fall in love with someone you've never met - and explores the implications of anonymity in cyberspace.

VALENTINE'S DAY TREAT: David Tennant As Casanova

Back in 2005 David Tennant starred as the legendary lover Casanova in a BBC Three production written by Russell T Davies. 
As an elderly librarian, Giacomo Casanova (played by the iconic Peter O'Toole), has a lot of exciting memories. A young servant girl, Edith (Rose Byrne), is treated to his lurid recollections and, before too long, she discovers that there's life in this old dog yet. It's enough to burst her bodice!

But this is nothing compared to the escapades of the young, hot and horny master of seduction. The youthful Casanova (cheekily portrayed by David Tennant) cuts a swathe through the women of Europe with his dashing good looks and irrepressible confidence.

But though the laydeez offer their full approval (usually expressed horizontally), the law is outraged by his antics. Made an outlaw for offences against government and church, Casanova leads the life of a fugitive.
