"Completely different and yet weirdly familiar," says David Tennant of his return to the role of the Tenth Doctor in the 50th Anniversary special

David was talking to Lizo Mzimba  for a behind-the-scenes feature on Doctor Who: The Day Of The Doctor which has now been posted onto the BBC Breakfast website. The clip features interviews with Matt Smith, Jenna Coleman and John Hurt as well as David, plus some on-set footage. There is also an unseen clip from the celebratory episode featuring David and a furry friend.

The Day Of The Doctor

The Doctors embark on their greatest adventure in this 50th anniversary special. In 2013, something terrible is awakening in London’s National Gallery; in 1562, a murderous plot is afoot in Elizabethan England; and somewhere in space, an ancient battle reaches its devastating conclusion. All of reality is at stake as the Doctor’s own dangerous past comes back to haunt him.

The Day Of The Doctor airs on BBC One at 7.50pm and on BBC America at 2.50pm ET on Saturday 23rd November. It will be simulcast worldwide and will be screened in cinemas across the globe.

David Tennant On BBC Breakfast Tomorrow Morning

David Tennant will be appearing live on BBC One's Breakfast tomorrow morning to talk about his new three-part drama series The Escape Artist. He will be joined by David Wolstencroft, the writer and creator of the series.

David will appear from 8.40am

Other guests on tomorrow's show include Ross Noble and Shane Filan


The Escape Artist is an original three-part suspense thriller set in the world of criminal law. David Tennant plays Will Burton, a talented junior barrister who specialises in spiriting people out of tight legal corners, hence his nickname of “The Escape Artist”. Will is in high demand as he has never lost a case. But when his talents acquit the prime suspect in a horrific murder trial, that brilliance comes back to bite him with unexpected and chilling results. The series also stars Ashley Jensen, Sophie Okonedo and Toby Kebbell. The Escape Artist begins on BBC One, Tuesday 29th October from 9pm GMT
