BBC Confirm David Tennant Casting In Doctor Who 50th Show
The BBC have now confirmed that David Tennant and Billie Piper along with John Hurt have been cast in the 50th Anniversary Doctor Who special.They will be joining stars Matt Smith as the Doctor and new companion Clara played by Jenna-Louise Coleman in the special episode which begins shooting on Monday.
The official @BBCDoctorWho Twitter page have posted images of David Tennant, Billie Piper and John with the hashtag #DoctorWho50th. The information was leaked ahead of the official BBC announcement after copies of Doctor Who magazine containing casting news was sent out to subscribers early.
.The 90 minute episode is expected to be shown on the night of the show's 50th Anniversary, Saturday 23rd November, and will also have a cinematic release. The show will be filmed in 3D, though will be screened in a standard version too.
The new series of Doctor Who begins tonight at 6.15pm on BBC One and on BBC America at 8pm/7c.
