Man charge after supposedly invading Didak house

A man who supposedly broke into the home of contentious Collingwood star Alan Didak and confronted the AFL player's girlfriend has been charged.

Police say they were called to the house in Gladstone Street, Kew about 1pm (AEDT) yesterday and found a 40-year-old man in the front garden.

The man purportedly charged at police and was sprayed with capsicum spray before he was arrested and taken into protection.

Boroondara police later charged the man with robbery, trespass and resisting arrest.

No one was hurt in the event, although the man is continuing to receive medical treatment, police said.

He was bailed to appear in the Melbourne Magistrates Court on November 24.
