Sylvester McCoy: No 20th Century Doctors Will Feature In The 50th Anniversary Special

Following his comments to Den Of Geek that he had not been asked to appear in the Doctor Who Anniversary special, Sylvester McCoy has now claimed that none of the pre-revival Doctors have been asked back to appear in the show.

The Seventh Doctor actor said: "The 20th century Doctors haven't heard anything. I don't know about the 21st century Doctors, but we from our century have not been asked to do it. We old Who-ers have not been asked to go along. All of us want to do it, just for the fans - because that's what they want. But we've heard nothing - Tom Baker's heard nothing, Colin Baker, Peter Davison, Paul McGann… none of us have heard anything."

However he did reveal that he plans to be part of the Doctor Who 50th Celebration Weekend convention, to be held at ExCeL in London over the anniversary weekend in late November.

"I believe the BBC are doing a very big London convention coming up," he said. "All being well, I'll be there."

Filming began on the Doctor Who 50th Anniversary special this week in South Wales. Matt Smith, Jenna-Louise Coleman, David Tennant, Billie Piper, Joanna Page and John Hurt have all been confirmed among the cast.
