Happy Birthday David Tennant!

A very happy birthday to the brilliant David Tennant today!

David's 42nd year looks like being an absolute jam-packed classic as he continues to thrill and amaze us, with a stack of very different projects and very different characters to look forward to. Just as the hugely acclaimed Broadchurch draws to a close and we wave goodbye to DI Alec Hardy, we see the start of The Politician's Husband on BBC Two in which David plays flawed MP Aiden Hoynes. Later this year we'll see another new character, that of talented lawyer Will Burton in the BBC One thriller The Escape Artist. But for fans all over the world, the biggest TV treat has to be David's return to the role of the Tenth Doctor for the Doctor Who 50th Anniversary special. And he's sure to be involved elsewhere in the celebrations as we get into November.

David is returning to the stage this year as he takes on the role of King Richard in the new RSC production of Richard II. The play opens in Stratford-upon-Avon on 10th October 2013 and will run untill 16th November 2013before transferring to London from December 9th 2013 until 25th January 2014.

And if that wasn't enough we can always rely on David to treat us to some audio goodies. He is currently featuring as Walter Scott on BBC Radio 4 and we have the audiobooks of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang And The Race Against Time and How To Steal A Dragon's Sword coming later in the year. We'll also be hearing his voice in the new Postman Pat movie, due in cinemas this winter.

And knowing David, he's bound to have a few other surprises to spring on us throughout the next twelve months!

So, Happy Birthday David from all of us!
