Two men, one of them an Afghan citizen, executed in Tehran's Evin prison

Iran Human Rights, June 2: Yesterday Iran Human Rights reported that several people might have been executed in Tehran’s Evin prison.

Jam-e-Jam online (belonging to the Iranian state broadcasting) reported that two men were hanged in Tehran’s Evin prison yesterday.

One of the men was identified as Abdolmajid Reigi, convicted of Moharebeh (waging war against God) and armed clashes with security forces in 2006. The other man was identified as Hossein Barikzahi, an Afghan citizen convicted of murdering his wife and sexually abusing his daughter.

The charges have not been confirmed by independent sources.
