Mehdi Sadeghloo, another Juvenile Offender in Danger of Execution

Mehdi Sadeghloo, a young offender who before the age of 18 was charged with murder, is now in danger of execution.

HRANA - Mehdi Sadeghloo is a juvenile offender currently held in Rajai Shahr Karaj prison who murdered an adolescent by the family name Bai in 2008. The court had sentenced him to death and now there is danger of the sentence to be executed.

HRA and the accused’s lawyer held various meetings with the victim’s family to gain cooperation from the parents so a death sentence pardon can be possible. So far, their efforts have proven unsuccessful.

In the recent year (2008-2009), at least five juveniles have been executed who were all under the age of 18 when they were charged with murder. The names of the mentioned executed includes two Afghan citizens (Mola Gol Hassan and Gholamreza H.)and three Iranian citizens named Delara Darabi, Behnoud Shojaee, and Mosleh Zamani.
